Manuscript Evaluation Process

All manuscripts submitted to ASES International Journal of Health and Sports Sciences (HSSCI) undergo an initial editorial review. If deemed appropriate, a plagiarism check is conducted. Manuscripts that pass the plagiarism screening proceed to the peer review stage.

Submissions must include the authors’ full names, academic titles, institutional affiliations, departments, institution city, and ORCID IDs. To ensure a double-blind peer review, all identifying author information is removed by the editors before review.

Editors evaluate each submission for compliance with the journal’s formatting and publication guidelines. If revisions are required, the manuscript is returned to the author for correction. If compliant, it is sent directly to peer reviewers. Manuscripts that do not adhere to submission guidelines are rejected without peer review.

Manuscripts lacking scientific merit or not contributing to academic knowledge are returned to authors after editorial review. In line with the double-blind policy, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential.

Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts within 30 days. If no report is received in this period, a new reviewer is assigned. Manuscripts receiving favorable reviews are accepted for publication.

Review criteria include:

  • Consistency between title and content

  • Scientific originality and rigor

  • Accuracy of language and expression

  • Scope and treatment of the topic

  • Thematic coherence

  • Use of original and primary sources

  • Access to current literature and references

  • Contribution to the field

  • Mastery of terminology

  • Clarity, style, and readability

  • Validity of conclusions

Reviewers may request to re-evaluate revised manuscripts before publication. If so, the revised manuscript is sent back to the reviewer for final approval.

Authors have the right to appeal reviewer decisions with reasonable justification and supporting evidence. In such cases, the editorial board may consult an additional reviewer.

Authors can track all stages of the evaluation process via their accounts. Since the system allows only one revision upload, authors are advised to wait for all peer reviews to be completed before making revisions.

Editors monitor the implementation of reviewer-recommended revisions and make final decisions on acceptance or rejection. During submission, authors are required to agree to the journal’s copyright policy. However, the editorial board may request a signed copyright transfer agreement if necessary.

Articles published in HSSCI may be used with proper citation of the journal. Unauthorized use without citation is subject to legal action, and all responsibility lies with the user.
